Apologies for lack of news lately, was out of country.

Game Day: Vancouver Canucks at Calgary Flames

Through 14 games, Bennett is still pointless. Zero goals. Zero assists. It’s a positive sign that he has nearly doubled his shot total — from nine to 17 — in his past three outings, but the opposing goaltender keeps getting in the way.

Selecting Shootout Players

Asked if his players ever lobby to be included in the shootout Glen Gulutzan smiled.
“Every time,” chuckled the Calgary Flames coach of a selection process that starts with regular post-practice shootout attempts.
“(After they shoot), I can see guys looking back at me. That’s such a good thing — it’s like, ‘pick me, pick me.’ The guys you worry about are the guys that don’t look back, who don’t want to be picked.”

Eight Flames forwards still seeking elusive first goal

There’s plenty of company, but this is a club that nobody wants to be a part of.
These are, after all, the eight Calgary Flames forwards — yeah, eight of ’em — who have yet to score a goal so far this fall.
“I’m not used to starting a season like this. It’s never happened before,” sighed Sam Bennett, arguably the most skilled of this goal-less gang. “Obviously, as much as you try to tell yourself, ‘Don’t worry about it,’ it’s still going to be there. So I’ll take one however I can get it.
“I would be happy to take one off my back or off my skate. I don’t care.”

Hey, you're doing stuff for everyone on your free time. No need to apologize if you're not doing more

I was going to say that at least he has sorted out his priorities, but being grateful for stuff would also work.

I'm glad you said something, I thought it was just me.

in news from around the league, Getzlaf out 2 months after needing surgery to fix a broken face..... Tough start to the year for Getlaf and the ducks in general. Lots of injuries to impacting players.

That Getlaf is no good !! Could not be happier to see it happen to them of all teams. Only team I would like it more to happen to is the Oilers

That's a bit harsh. I hate the ducks, and some of their players, but Getzlaf is a superstar. Had the ducks gotten thru to the finals, he would have been a strong candidate for the Conn Smyth...
