Make sure no one brings up gun control. It's not the time, nor is later or before.

Mass shootings are almost becoming a daily occurrence in the United States.

Make sure we instantly politicize the tragedy and choose sides. Don't wait for any facts to come out.

Well we have some facts - at least 20 dead. And it wasn't all done with a hammer or nunchucks.

I look at mass shootings like a public health and safety issue than a political one. Many people are being injured and killed in the US every day. Immediate action is taken if people are at risk from a virus, or if people are killed by a terrorist group, or when a natural disaster strikes*...mass shootings, nothing ever happens. Ever. It is tragic.

Just curious as to what facts you need?

Well given we don't have a time machine to go back and prevent the 2nd Amendment, and weapons are so thoroughly ingrained in the American life; technically someone with a CC permit could have stopped this from being so devastating.

Are you being serious? Is this not Texas, where people in that church either did, or could have, had a permit to carry a handgun?

Such a terrible thing to hear about, my thoughts are with the families of the deceased’s.

If the NRA could explain how the right to carry made anyone safer in this instance, I’d sure like to hear it. This tragedy is a counter point to almost any argument the NRA could try to put forward to defend open carry so it’s unlikely they’ll comment too much if they comment at all. If the suspect killed himself or was killed by police, then even though every person in that church had the right to carry(and may or may not have been exercising that right), it made no difference. The outcome was the exact same as it would have been without a right to carry in public for your “protection”.

Yes, they could have. Which is why this will likely prompt more people to CC to places like church.

Its a neverending game of one-upsmanship between gun violence and those trying to stop gun violence. Which is why the fact America has such a gun culture is so impossible to reverse. You'd basically need all the criminals and crazies to guve up their guns before the sane 95% will.

If it's a dude in tactical gear who presumably knows what he's doing, I don't like the chances of CC permit holder with a handgun who will be ambushed and caught off guard. I dunno... not a gun guy.

Trump if the shooter is identified as a white guy: "Let's wait until we have all the facts first. Now is not the time to discuss policy."

Trump if the shooter is Muslim: "It was ISIS! We need a travel ban!"
