Default Recommendations for a sports bar in Vancouver to watch the Flames?

Hey all,

As some of you know, I've relocated to Vancouver a few years ago. I'm tired of watching Flames games either at home or at a bar with no game sound after begging the bartender to put it on. Can anyone recommend any good sports bars that will play the game with game sound?

Cheers,

Ash

Good luck. We tried for a while to find a home bar for Flames fans in Vancouver and haven't had much success. We did get Yagger's on Pender to put the game on for us with sound in the back lounge area once.

The Black Frog in Gastown is owned by Oiler fans, but they're friendly, might be your best shot as long as the Oilers aren't playing the same night.

I thought Malone's offered the Flames games ... I have a buddy who always seems to find them on Main, I'll ask at work tomorrow.

It all depends really, what other games are on which bartender/manager is on shift. Some will be helpful and others not. I have never found consistency in my many years here. But Library Square was my go to downtown.

I'll have the games on in the basement on the big screen if you are in the Burnaby mountain area....

I do think it might be a lot easier now as the Canucks are pretty low on the what we care about meter. I know it was Victoria, but when I asked the bartender if it would be possible to get a Flames game on a TV when the Canucks were scheduled to play at the same time. He chuckled and said nobody cares about the Canucks right now. He then pointed at one of the bigger TVs and said he can put the Flames game on there.

I think this may be a decent option. As noted, the owner is an Oilers fan and they aren't playing on the same nights as the Flames. Plus their wings are good here.

We should just all pitch in and open our own Flames bar

A buddy and I are also looking for a place to watch the game in Van and will probably just head to Red Card. Anyone else is free to join!

I don' think I can do any of the first three games but will be interested in heading out after that. I am on kid duty until my wife's show wraps next week.

I have actually never heard of Red Card but it looks like a cool joint. Let us know if it is Flames friendly if you end up going.
