Guess Vegas has signed Pirri for this to happen. He was last cut from his PTO with Florida.

Treliving definitely learned his lesson with Bouma and dodged a bullet there with Colborne.

Joe needs a new start here - sad to see him fall so hard in just a year.

Pirri - Jankowski - Brouwer would be a pretty damn good 4th line IMO.
Would now need to get rid of Glass, Hamilton, & Stajan to be able to make that happen though.

I'm surprised Colborne played pretty much the entire season in Colorado last year.

I'd take him back at 50% retained.
Or hell, straight up for Brouwer

Backlund artificially increased Colborne's numbers from his baseline.
Colorado artificially decreased Colborne's numbers from his baseline.
Very curious to see what his baseline really is, but I bet it is a heck of a lot better than he was last season. I would welcome him back any day on a low term, low dollar contract for a 4th line spot and see if he improves.

If we were hurting for bottom 6 forwards sure bring him back and see what happens. At this point just be glad Tre decided to just let him walk.

Lol.:: I'd take Pirri, can't make Florida or VGK but he would be a good fit for the Flames while we can't find room for Lazar ATM.
Lol, I'd take colborne over Brouwer but Colborne is cut by one of the weakest teams in the league...
Brouwer, albeit overpaid and slightly underperformed last season is still better than Colborne.
Pirri is on a team carousel over the last 3 years and can't hold a spot but he's a better option?
Ugh..

No thanks. We passed on him for a reason. He's good at shootouts and nothing else. Big body but doesn't play like one, slow skater, bad defensively, and always skates around with the puck then gives it away in the offensive zone. Jankowski is already a better version of Colborne with the same size.

I understand Brouwer is overpaid, but good God Joe Colborne is NOT a better option than him.

Well, I disagree that he was not good at anything else. If anything, he was very inconsistent, but he had moments of absolute dominance, which is why there are still people like me who think this guy has potential upside - though, as I posted earlier, I would only want him at something like a 1 year term at minimum or just above minimum salary.
I thought he was quite effective against Anaheim in the playoffs, for instance, and was just starting to learn the net-front presence game. To say it was all shoot-outs was selling him a bit short.
With that being said, his confidence might be completely shot to the point where he never does anything of note again.

I feel bad for Joe. I really did like him at times. Even though Backlund likely inflatted his numbers a bit, there's nothing wrong with finding chemistry with players on your team.
Just a shame he never used his body like we all wanted him to. You can force someone to play a certain way. But imagine him playing like a poor man's Lindros. He could have been a force.
By all accounts he was great in the community, was a great interview, and I was glad he got a payday with the Avs. But it's still kind of sad to see a good guy person like him fall so hard from grace. I can think of plenty other players I'd like to see flush their career away before Joe. I really did think he would find another level after scoring that Hat Trick in game 1.
