Nikolaj Ehlers signed for 7 Years 42M
Just heard on the radio, apparently Ehlers has signed a 7 year extension at 42M. Which would hold a cap hit of 6M per. If true that is insane value !
EDIT - Multiple reports that it is 6 Years 42M. 7M per.

This is probably one of the best deals Chevy has done as GM, incredible value. Terrific. #### I sound like Trump.

That's a pretty good contract given what's been going on this offseason.

Another gross overpayment. Man, Laine is going to be worth $12M a season when he's due.

6M is not an overpayment for a player who put up 25 goals and 64 points in total. If Laine gets 40 this season dude will be making 11M plus easily.

Wow. Way too much. Almost Monahan and Gaudreau money and we all know he's not even close to their level.
Guess we can call it the Winnipeg tax.

I see the update on the score as a 6 year deal and it that is the case $7M per seems rich

Dude put up 25+39 for 64 points in 82 games last year and is getting better. This is market value for a guy like him and he is at the same level as Mony/Johnny. Great signing.

Although I don't think it's a gross overpayment, I can see the argument. He's only played two seasons in the NHL, 38 and 64 pts respectively. It's definitely a risk and I tend to think that some of these huge contracts coming off of an ELC are going to bite teams in the ass.

That would actually make more sense to me. 6Mx7 bargain. 7Mx6 Pricey.

Wtf are you talking about? He is 3 years younger than Johnny and this deal is 750k less per season and he will now be tied up Winnipeg 8 more years as this kicks in after this year. Johnny has 4 left.

Who is saying he's worth more than Gaudreau ? Gaudreau has a higher contract then the speculated number.

????
It's 750k less per year and this will keep him a Jet 8 years where as Johnnys deal is done in 4. What on Earth are you talking about.

And put up 30 something the year before.
He has one good season. Monahan and Gaudreau are both better players and strung together a few consistent seasons before their deals.
