Default Wedding ring tattoo

My wife and I are looking at getting "wedding ring" tattoos. Anyone have any experience getting these done, any recommendations of someone in Calgary that would specialize in this type of work? We're not thinking of anything too crazy or intricate, but still want it done nicely.

Just do a thin one, so you can cover it up with another wedding band for the second go-round.

That's gotta draw out the ceremony for a long time.

Could you make it look like the Ring from the Lord of the Rings?

How do you spell 'Happy New Year' in Elvish?

I know a guy who has one. Tough as nails, he passed out from the pain. Apparently not a fun experience.

Apparently it's "Idhrin-eden ‘elir!"

From the page "useful elvish phrases". I question the categorizing of "useful", but there it is.

Yes fingers hurt like hell, anywhere without a fair bit of fat hurts like hell. Get the tatooists to let you try it without ink so you both know you want to go through with the pain

I asked my Fiance if I could just not wear a ring as I don't like them and she made it very clear that was not going to happen. I have wondered about this idea though.

I know a number of men and women that have them.

None has passed out from the pain.

Time to re-assess your friend's tuffness

Yeah I'm not a huge fan either, which is why we started throwing this idea around since I still want to have the representation of it.

Both her parents and her brothers have them and none of them said they were exceptionally painful, at least not more than their other tattoos.

And we've already been married a while, the ceremony won't be affected, lol.

Just tell her "it's the ring or me". Let us know how that goes.

I don't know anyone who specialises (in fact, you're more likely to find artists that won't tattoo fingers than you'll find specialists) but keep it simple and don't ask for a "design," because finger tattoos age quickly and poorly.

Otherwise, any good tattoo artist (that will do it) will do a fine job. Call around to the highly rated shops.

If you have to get a ring, I would suggest a comfort band ring. It has a slight curvature on the inside of the ring. I hated wearing a ring but got one for my wedding band and it is much more comfortable.

I would suggest that if you are getting a wedding ring tattoo it should incorporate her name clearly and prominently.
