Probably not that big a deal but Son of Hall of Fame defensemen inks a deal with a NHL team.
Carolina Hurricanes, the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Jake Chelios on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Chelios $650,000 on the NHL level or $85,000 on the American Hockey League (AHL) level during the 2017-18 season.

Curious to know the price. Aside from a few decent AHL seasons, he's done very little in the NHL.
Edit - 2 years, league minimum. Sounds about right.

1 way though.
That Bishop trade back then was shrewd GMing by Yzerman. Completely took advantage of an undersized young player riding shotgun with Stamkos, St Louis etc and flipped him for a promising young goaltender.

Blues sign Butler to two-year, two-way deal
Former Flame. He's only played 6 NHL games in the last couple years and is Captain of the Blues farm team Chicago Wolves (will also be Vegas Farm team). Still not a bad guy to have as an option for emergency call ups.
