Flames have interest in Sharp UPD: multiple reports deal done with CHI
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Don't be surprised if UFA Patrick Sharp returns home to Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow. CGY, amongst others, had substantial interest.

Honestly, I think the Flames will sign him tomorrow. This rumour started this afternoon with an anonymous inside report that he would sign in Calgary, and after that Dreger and MacKenzie have now started connecting Sharp to the Flames.

No, I read it the same way. McKenzie doesn't generally engage in baseless speculation so it sounds like something has already been worked out with Chicago.
I'd like to be pleasantly surprised though. Just please no Doan.
FWIW, Blackhawks beat reporter on Sharp returning:

I've heard #Blackhawks are lukewarm on the idea; these twilight reunions haven't gone well. But he could keep 2L warm & be a PP specialist.

We'll see what happens tomorrow. I've been told repeatedly that Sharp absolutely wants to come back. Question is whether Hawks want it, too.

Lots of reports that the Hawks want Sharp back. I was "assured" Patrick Sharp would not be coming back last week. For what it's worth.
No idea about his credibility. But I think it'll be the Flames. Chicago was rumoured earlier this week but CGY was the buzz today, which is why I'd lean that way. The impression I get is he liked the idea of going back to CHI, but there maybe isn't the same interest on the Hawks' side.
Edit: turns out he's a host and columnist with Chicago's sports station. Pretty legit. But things could very well have changed since, too.
Hey did anyone watch the Penguins win the last two Cups with guys like Rust, Sheary, and Guentzel playing a major role? Did they get past the Capitals and their yearly loading of UFA veterans and trade deadline splashes. My memory is fuzzy.
Treliving, good week. Don't undermine it with a bad UFA signing.

i'm not going to assume i know more than brad treliving in any aspect, if they think that this is the prudent move, i defer to the obsessive management group we got going here.
