Karla Homolka is living in Canada again, Magnotta trial hears
Quote:
Valentini, whose sister Karla Homolka was sentenced to 12 years in prison for manslaughter in a high-profile murder case in the 1990s, told jurors she didn't mail any such box to False Creek Elementary.
Valentini, who changed her name from Lori Homolka in 1996, said via video link from Kitchener, Ont., she was blown away when police called her in 2012...
..... The jury heard that Karla Homolka is living in Quebec with her spouse. Valentini said she'd seen her sister recently.

I can't believe that woman has the balls to move back to Canada. I hope the press finds out where she lives and makes her life miserable.

Did she live somewhere else? I don't keep up on these things, so I have no idea. I guess I just wonder what country would let her in? Also, who would marry her?!

Unfortunately, pedophiles, murderers and other dangerous criminals are let out of jail, probably daily.

She was living on the Caribbean island of Guadalupe. I believe she married her lawyers brother. The bitch should still be in prison.

She was very much active in the murders, but how much of that was due to Bernardo being a major major influence to her is up for debate. No doubt though, she could have stopped it all from happening before it did.
The book Lethal Marriage is a very good book on the whole case. Very graphic and not for the faint of heart.

This absolutely sickens me. If you ever read the book 'Karla' or see the movie- this woman has no shame. And wtf kind of guy would marry her? Gross.

Karla Homolka repesents everything that is wrong with plea deals. She should be rotting in a prison cell for the rest of her life.

Now now, according to the courts she's paid her debt to society.
Even though she's never shown regret
Broke every rule that she could while incarcerated
Conspired with her lawyer to hide evidence that would have killed her plea bargain deal.
She clearly deserves a second chance to be left alone.

Now now, I don't think anyone ever argues that. Except maybe her lawyer. We all know it's a plea deal gone bad and the difference of 48 hours woulda made sure she got the same sentence as Bernardo.
Unfortunately, once a deal is made you can't go back on it. Perhaps we could look at changing that law for terrible and obvious situations like this. But till then, unfortunately this is the way it goes.
I'd make exceptions for this POS, but rules are rules, and you need them in a justice system.

I went to school with a girl who was involved in something similar.
(Had an affair, got pregnant, had baby, chopped up and buried baby - got caught).
She was out in 9 months despite admitting to lying in 6 of 10 police interviews (only in the last interview did she suggest the father was involved, supposedly the police directed her to say that).
The father/partner is in jail for life. From most reports he was found guilty on circumstantial evidence and wasn't even aware of the baby until the police were knocking on his door.
So, yeah, the system isn't always just. He shouldn't be in jail for the crimes she committed and yet she is out and free to move on with her life.

I agree with your points and the only reason I would now argue she be left alone is because she has 3 small children.
I don't believe the children should be forced to suffer the sins and errors of the mother.

I hate to judge but how could a man marry her knowing what she did? Maybe she's a better person today but man that would be hard to overlook.
