Default Folding Phones

Hey folks,

Just got my first folding phone (Pixel 9 Pro).

Wondering if anyone has any good tips for getting the most out of folding phones.

Pretty terrified I'm going to break this thing but got a decent case to help protect it.

Cheers.

I have had the orginal samsung flip Z and upgraded to the flip 6. I spent 1k on repairs to my flip Z when I had it in my pants pocket and a small piece of gravel got between the screens when it was closed and I was climbing stairs at the same time. It destroyed the screen and had to be replaced. There was other work done at the same time so the screen was probably 1/2 that cost

So I invested in a good case / holster combo to keep it out of my pockets. Haven't had an issue since.

I got a Z Flip 6 last summer. After about 6 months the screen stopped working properly - ghost touches and dead zones. It was replaced under warranty this February or March. I have since had it in a case and had no issues.

That split-screen feature looks slick. Have you tried running two apps side-by-side yet, like streaming something while checking stocks or CP? Curious if it feels smooth in day-to-day use or if it’s a bit clunky.

Will report back after I've had it a few days but, part of the reason I got it was to read things with bigger text more easily.

I've had the Z Flip 4, 5 and 6. Loved them all with no issues. Didn't upgrade to the 7 because the upgrade wasn't significant enough over the 6 (five to six wasn't that different, either, tbh) and the incentives weren't attractive enough to bother trading in. 4 to 5, then 5 to 6 had awesome trade-in promotions.

I love these things. My 6 still feels brand new and I've had it over a year. Never had an issue. I'd have a difficult time going back to a brick phone...they're just so annoying in your pocket. Everyone's phone looks like it's from the stone age compared to mine.
