Winsport ice schedule is here https://www.winsport.ca/aboutwinspor...esbookings.cfm
They don’t practice there much in season, but they practice there often in the summer. As for the Dome, I’m not the person to ask

As for autographs, I believe people will wait outside the player's parking lot for players as they drive out -- no idea how many will stop and sign for you though.
I have taken my daughter to a few. We sat in the lower bowl, but there was not any opportunity to have anything signed (unless you were lucky enough to catch them outside).
The security keep you in line as to where you can be, clearing sections out when the opposing teams don't want you close, or when players are sitting in the stands to watch.
I went to a practice when I visited Calgary in 2006, back then we sat all in the lower bowl. After practice the players when leaving the ice all signed autographs and talked to us, except Robyn Regher, even Jim Playfair said hi to us all.
Below the hill, so at the bottom. However, I'd go down to ice level if you wanna meet them, either when they leave the ice or the dressing room (or before).
I didn't realize you can only sit in the second level for practices now. When I used to regularly visit Calgary (2006-2010ish), I would strategically plan for long homestands to maximize the opportunity for not only games, but practices too. Back then, you could still sit anywhere in the lower bowl I believe?
We would get there early for a practice and always grab seats right next to the tunnel/runway/bench. That was so much fun to be so close and watch the players go through their work and drills. I always enjoyed that a great deal, sometimes more than the games just with how close you could be and what you could observe.
Pretty much all the guys coming off the ice would sign autographs and take some pictures, that was really cool, especially for the kids and younger fans.
I've only been to one this year. Can confirm its section 109/110. I have heard some visiting teams request spectators sit in 200's.
Worst thing are all the losers who take up the spots by the tunnel getting their NWT Jerseys and Glossy 8x10's signed to sell preventing kidlets from grabbing autographs.
Last year it was pretty funny tho.
Hey Dougie can you sign this? (Was a glossy 8 x 10 Team Canada Pic)
Sure! Whats your name?
Uh Bob?
Dougie proceeds to write To Bob on the pic and signs it. He then says I think I wore 12 (not sure exact numbers) so he puts a 12 after it. Looking at the picture it was clearly 4 (again not sure)
He disappeared chuckling and the guy was soooo not impressed,

Yep, I had talked to a security guard a couple of years ago and different teams have different requirements. For NJD which was the practice we were at (where CalgaryBoy got his pic with Jagr much to the chagrin of all the autograph hunters) nobody could sit along the tunnel seats. He told me Chicago doesn't allow anyone in the lower bowl. The Flames allowed anyone near the tunnel and in fact they removed the barrier to the tunnel so kids (or in our case Calgaryboy) could get pictures beside the players, and coach Boob Hartley.
The guys were all really good and patient with the mostly starstruck kids. I recall one little guy who had a Monahan jersey on and his parents yelled from a couple rows up to get his jersey signed as Mony was skating off. The kid had his hands full of pucks and pens and in a state of panic flung everything on the ground and ripped off his jersey. He was panicking because it was now inside out. Mony was signing things and I said loud enough so he heard me that "____ has a Mony jersey." He noted that and signed enough pucks and flags for the kid to get his jersey sorted out. I thought the whole scene was fun. The autograph hounds seemed to keep away from The Flames and left it up to the kids, as it should be.
