Biggest needs going into the season?

What are teams biggest needs going into the offseason?

For me:

A true #1 goaltender(someone who can play 60+ games and post above .920 Save % and a GA of 2.25-2.35.)

Very good 2 top 6 forward(one preferably a top line RW to play on the top line and another one to play with Bennett.)

A very good top 4 defensive defenceman(some one is physical.)

Young depth in the bottom 6(get rid of Brouwer, Bouma and Stajan.)

Fix the bottom of the D.

Get rid of the dead weight.

Sean Monahan is 21-years-old, the highest scoring member of his draft class, and was a top-ten scoring centre in the WC despite having what many consider to be an "off" year. I would suggest that your expectations are probably completely unrealistic.

I'm personally fine with Monahan after his second half and playoffs.

He scored a goal in every playoff game with a wrist that needed surgery....

#2 - Getting a legit #1 goalie
#3 - Getting/keeping a #4 RHD to pair with Brodie
#4 - Getting a #1 line RW
#5 - Getting/keeping a dependable #2 goalie
#6 - Making sure we have a good option for the 3rd pairing RHD

Everything after that is just depth stuff.

I think this is a different thread - for example I need oxygen and water to live.

I wish I could own more bikes and have several lasses of virtue true will to do my bidding

seems like a big difference to me.

anwyas, to answer the OP question - I am going to go off the board and say we need to fix our goaltending issue by getting a true #1 and then get a 1A so there is no drop off no matter who is playing

#1 Goaltender: No more failed starters who lost their jobs and couldn't cut it on their old team. Our pro scouts better make right on the next goaltender or the hammer should come down on them. Too many strikeouts.

#4 Defenseman: A perfect partner for Brodie would be a mobile and reliable stay at home defenseman like Niklas Hjalmarsson. Brodie has his struggles in his own end and needs that stabilizing force on the backend.
