Sad that the double standards are so blatantly obvious.
Definitely a suspendable offence, no matter what name plate is on your back.

I am no longer able to become agitated by the NHL Wheel of Justice.

And if Connor McDavid does it to a Flame player, the Flame would get the 2 game suspension for "embellishment".

As if they are remotely similar. Crosby barely touched him and could be easily argued was going for a tap to the arm and missed. Especially given the fact that it looks like Crosby is barely even looking at the guy he slashed and looked to just be doing the job of a standard PKer.
Marchand, who has a long history of dirty and dangerous plays, clearly and intentionally speared a guy right in the balls.
Marchand clearly pitchforks the guy. Crosby barely gave his man a love tap.
But oh yeah, exactly the same.

It could be argued that Crosby was going for his arm? Really??
WOw, some of these Crosby apologists are on another level.

It wasn't a pitchfork at all. Both incidents, the stick blade was flat. Also, Marchand never once looked at the guy either.

I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure that's not where arms are.

They are similar. Anyone with two eyes can see that. Both victims also went down instantly like they were shot. Crosby recently severed a player's finger with a hard chop so you can argue that the only difference between Marchand and Crosby is that one player is Sidney Crosby and the other is not.

Marchand also sticked the guy in the face while he was lying on the ice. That probably didn't help his case.

Did they get it right? Does it even matter?

Brad Marchand should not be allowed to play hockey in the NHL.
He's consistently shown a complete disregard for the NHL, it's rules, and it's employees. He is an unsafe, unruly employee and if the Union had any balls they'd file a grievance on behalf of the union brothers he injures on the job with his reckless disregard for governing authority.

No freakin' kidding.
As if there was any doubt this was both deliberate AND with the intention of causing injury, it was completely removed when his response to the injury was a second illegal and reprehensible stick infraction.
He shouldn't be allowed in the league, 40 goal or 0.

This is a little overboard as he's not taking players heads off and ending careers like Cooke or Torres. I don't like how he plays and don't argue he's dirty at times but the Flames kind of have a young player in the mold wether we admit it or not. It's just easier to dismiss guys like Kessler, Marchand, Ott, or Tkachuk as "agitators" when they are on the team you cheer for.

Deserved but that's going to be a tough two games to sit out for Marchand. Missed the forty goal plateau by three last season and now will miss it by a single goal due to this suspension.

The problem with whining about a double standard is the fact that Marchand has already been suspended multiple times in his career, and he was assessed the maximum fine for a different incident already this year. So, yes, his situation is very much different from Crosby. Crosby should have been fined. But Marchand deserved the suspension.

My word! A player with a long history of dirty play and suspensions being treated differently than a player with no such history!! It's positively givin' me the vapours!

I don't think anyone is arguing that Marchand is dirty and deserved to be suspended, but Crosby not even getting a warning for his recent actions is ludicrous. Easy to see there is a double standard in this league.
