Cochrane is way too high. They are friggin Tier 3. They don't want to play the big boys like Francis and ND. Drop them down to 30.

Tough to rate the Flames. Hopefully they have turned the corner for real and aren't just on another hotstreak.

I really think the Flames are just as good as the Oilers. It's pretty much neck and neck, despite the season series. I think it was a bit misleading given how the Flames didn't even show up for most of it.

Only difference is the Flames are doing it by committee. On the Oilers' side McDavid is so consistently good that he brings what half the Flames' offensive core does for his team. But they're definitely not as deep, as much as the fans would have you believe. Huge drop off in points from McD. Talbot is slightly better than Elliott given his ability to rebound regularly and consistently put up .910+, but Elliott is now rounding the corner, so it's becoming more and more of a toss up. It's stupid that in this era of hockey one player can do so much for a team. Feels like the Oilers cut corners with the lottery win(s), but it is what it is.

I haven't seen enough of Ottawa this season to really gauge where they're at, but they seem to be a team with a lot of weapons and goaltending to bail them out when needed despite being somewhat porous defensively.

Toronto is like the 14-15 Flames but with the problems of the 15-16 Flames. Can't close out games too well, but fast and young and skilled and making the most out of what's there despite the top players still being quite raw.

Vancouver is not in good shape but I like their recent acquisitions. An abundance of decent prospects, little to no great ones.

Winnipeg is full of inexperience. Packed with talent but there's always been something missing there to push them to the next level. Incredibly inconsistent.

Price to the Habs is what Kipper was to the Flames in his hay day. The team is littered with holes but he compensates for a lot of it.

Hard to rank. But I'm starting to like Alberta better than the Habs or Sens. I don't think there is much separation between all four teams overall.

Trying to not be a Homer,

Edmonton
Calgary
Ottawa
Montreal
Toronto
Winnipeg
Vancouver

I see people saying Mcdavid and Talbot are the only reason they're doing so well, but until they're somehow not part of the team, the oilers are good. Maybe not deep enough to push too far into the playoffs though.

If the flames were playing like this all year, they would clearly be the better team, but I'm still worried this is just a hot streak.

You mean the last 3.5 months, where the Flames have been one of the top teams in the NHL.
That 3.5 month streak?
