Petition for Iginla *Post only if you want him back*
I know this little forum has had bigger eyes view it in the past, it's an awesome place and I think this thread is worthy considering the latest tweet from sureloss. Iggy has battled his entire career, was an ambassador for this city, and is a true good guy of the sport. It would be devastating to me if he didn't get one last crack at the cup and that's why I'm creating this thread. I realize there's already a polled thread but this isn't a question of what you want to see or don't want to see it's a question of whether you believe it's right to see Iggy have a last kick at the can. Please only post a single time if you want to sign the petition to bring Iggy back for a playoff run.

It's a couple months of hockey before potential retirement.
Going full circle would just be too perfect. I don't think it hurts the team. Probably won't happen, but no harm in discussing the (slim) possibility.
If none of the Caps, Pens, Hawks, Rangers or Sharks (legitimate contenders) offer for him, then I'd be happy to see the Flames do so. It may not be a great chance, but it's one nonetheless. One he doesn't get playing out the string in Colorado.

If he doesn't go to the Caps/Pens/Sharks, then bring him home.

Hard no.
Let him go to Chicago, Washington, Pittsburgh.. an actual contender. The guy needs to win a Cup before he hangs 'em up.

I'll take him back only if Vrbata doesn't pan out.

Would love him to get a shot at cup. Honestly don't see a chance here this year. So go somewhere win then sign a one year to finish here.

Im not in the anti return for iggy crowd. But im not pro iggy coming back either. I think he would have the best wrist shot on this team if we got him. I think the speed issues are overstated. He isnt slower than Monahan. I dont think he would interfere with the leadership. I think we could definitely use him on our PP and as a depth forward. Plus nobody would work harder than him because he loves this city and would kill to win here.
On the other side..his contract is one we would need to make space for. He isnt good defensively. Combined -40 last 2 seasons..but maybe thats just the avs.
The biggest reasons i dont think he should come back are because we are not a contender...just a potential playoff team.
AND i think we can find a better player who brings more and takes up less cap or can help us past this season ie younger. Id take Vrbata or Armia over Iggy.
PS he is my favorite player in the history of the NHL and my 3rd favorite athlete of all time.
Im not for it. Im not against it. But i think its thinkink with the heart and not the head.
