Klefbom scored at the 5:18 mark of the first period, 1-0 Oilers after twenty minutes. The shots are 13-10 in favour of the Oilers, Reimer and Talbot are the goalies.
Backstrom scored from Oshie and Ovechkin, 1-0 Capitals midway through the first period.

This is vintage Oilers game where they are very dangerous when McDavid on the ice and generate nothing when he's not.

Pretty good game happening in philly right now.
Simmons with a big hit on Niskanen just now.
Caps up 2-0, Flyers lead in hits 24-10.
Caps look so dangerous.

Panthers announcers incredulous as to how the Oilers can get away with so much.
They should try watching more Oilers games.

So Sekara is hurt now too? Let's see how Edmonton'd D holds up without him and Larsson. They have Calder candidate Matthew Benning so should be fine.

Nice response by Marchessault. 5 seconds on the clock in the period and he scores on a breakaway after a beautiful pass from Yandle.

Huge save by Holtby on Simmonds. Flyers, eventually score, Brayden Schenn with the tip in front off a great effort by Brandon Manning to keep the puck in at the blueline.

Gudas just gooned out Niskanen with a knee on knee. Niskanen's gone to the dressing room. No penalty.

That was a crazy last minute to a back and forth second period that had five goals. Barkov tying the game just 21 seconds into the period, Gryba giving the Oilers the lead and then Sceviour tying it. Nugent Hopkins scoring with 61 seconds left and then as you described Marchessault's power play goal to tie it at 3-3. Hendricks holding penalty put the Oilers shorthanded. The Oilers had the edge in shots, 17-11.

That's how Gudas plays. Such a cheap shot/dirty player. He doesn't need to be that way either...he's huge. Yet he's that despicable type of player. Not quite Marchment, but close.
Some were suggesting trading for him recently and I puked in my mouth a little.

Rather have him on my team than play against him. Feel the same way about Ferland to some extent.
Niskanen back on the bench for the Caps

Ferland isn't a dirty player though. He rocks the crap out of guys, but he's as clean as you can get for a physical player.
This isn't the same as being a pest, this is about a guy who makes unnecessarily dangerous plays that put other player's health at risk. I have no respect for that.

oh sure, Ferland isn't dirty, wasn't trying to imply that.
just that if I had the option of playing Gudas 6 times a year or playing for me 82 games, I'd choose playing for me.
He's a competitor. Dirty as ####, but competitive.

Well crap. Looks like it is going to be very difficult to catch the Oilers. Russell with the winner.
