Devin is a native of Taber, Alberta and played not only in the WHL, but also in the AJHL. He was drafted 8th overall in 2005 and scored 31 goals for the Sharks in 2008/2009.
As a recovering alcoholic and native Albertan, I was also rooting for Guch to stick with the Kings.

Did you not read past the first sentence of my post? Why on earth would the Flames pick up Seto? I mean, good for him in recovering, but there's no fit.

It's not like the guy has been released, or has been injured to the point he'll never play again. He's on his way to the AHL which is still a tough league to make it to - he'll make a good chunk of change playing out the last few months of the season there.

D'amn, I wonder if Marleau would go through the same type of depression if he'd been traded from the Sharks and not scoring goals with anyone else besides having Jumbo Joe on your line. Cheechoo likely got hit hard as well after being so successful with the Sharks on that same line.

You know there is an absolute 0% chance we claim him, so why even make the slightest hint that Brad may even be considering it? "Brad don't do it"... Yeah don't worry, he's way ahead of you, seriously

He is actually earning AHL minimum on his 2 way contract ($45k for a full season). So not that good of a chunk.
To play hockey 45k is a great salary imo. Doing what you love!
But ya he definitely wouldn't shine on a CP income poll..

I would disagree there. 45k is potentially a good salary for doing something you love, if that thing you love is simple. Like flipping burgers or knitting.
Playing minor league hockey is tough as hell. Full-time, basically 24/7 job. Nutrition, fitness, practice, travel, video review, meetings, games, etc. 45k for doing all that work is a pittance. Especially when you consider what the after-tax income actually is.
What drives most of those guys is the chance at a callup.
