Default CBC story about Flames organist

Quick story about Willy Joosen on the CBC website. A quick, fun read.

Quote:
He has no plans to retire and gets into a pre-game groove about 90 minutes before the puck drops.

The best part of the job? Keeping 20,000 people focused on the game, he says.

The worst part — losing. Because after all, he was a Flames fan years before he sat behind the organ.

He is a big part of the game experience at the Dome.

I can't believe arenas still have an organist. You would think the DJ has like an organ app to satisfy the nostalgic.

My entire life, I have imagined the Flames organist to be a little old lady. Now my life-long illusions are shattered. Thanks CBC.

That was shattered when I heard Super Mario Bros and other video game music coming out of the organ years ago.

Willy Joosen is a treasure. Once he's done with this gig they should retire his musical note jersey and string his keyboard from the rafters.

Yeah, put me in the group that had no idea the Flames had an organist. I just assumed there was some organ section on iTunes the Flames DJ downloaded the songs from.

Neat story, thanks for sharing! His parents really did a disservice for him by not teaching him a word of English before kindergarten though, sheesh, but it sounds like he overcame it. I wonder if his parents ever learned to speak English? Maybe they did once he did.

I love hearing the Nintendo stuff, like Zelda. He's a cool dude

Don't get me wrong, he's an important part of the "dome experience" but this would be absolutely ridiculous.
