Are the oilers ever going to give Talbot a break this season?

It is 1-1 in the Oilers-Hurricanes game after forty minutes.
The Panthers lead the Ducks 2-1, Detroit is ahead 4-3, and it is 3-3 in the BJs-Penguins game.

The rookie Aho has the go ahead goal for the Hurricanes, 2-1 Carolina midway through the third period.

It looks likes all OOT games are won by one goal.
The Penguins beat the BJs 4-3 in overtime, Kessel with winning goal on the power play.
The Hurricanes defeat the Oilers 2-1 in regulation time. That is three consecutive losses for the Oilers.
The Panthers are hanging on to the 2-1 lead and Detroit with a late third period goal, 5-4 Red Wings.

I can't remember a more disappointing loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

It looks like the Oilers downward spiral is really happening. The Oilers lose their 3rd straight game, 2-1 to the Hurricanes. Thank you Cam Ward for playing well and stopping 24 of 25 Oilers shots. Kessel plays in his 800th career game and scores the GWG in OT, 4-3 Penguins over the BJs. Columbus does play them well and right now the 2 teams would meet in the playoffs. Heartbreaker for the Islanders as DeKeyser scores the GWG with 28 seconds left in reg time, the Red Wings win 5-4. Chimera tied it for the Isles with 2:26 left before Detroit retook the lead. The Panthers get the surprise win over the Ducks, 2-1 in reg time. Lindholm got the Ducks the lead in the 1st period, but that lasted only 13 seconds as the Panthers tied it quickly with Reily Smith's goal. Huberdeau scored the go ahead goal in the 2nd period and that was it. Yandle assisted on both of Florida's goals.

Lost in all this was the return of both Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau to the Panthers lineup. This was Huberdeau's first game of the season.
Don't be surprised to see the Panthers string together a few wins now that they have their two best forwards back in the lineup.
