Default [OOT] Jan 8th with 6 games

With 2 games completed already, we have the oilers vs senators tied at 2. Has anyone watching noticed how many times they've called Chris Wideman "Dennis"? Him and Benning picked up fighting majors and I heard "Dennis Wideman" 3 times in that stretch.

Final scores from today are:

4-3 canes over bruins
6-2 Pittsburgh over Tampa

Embarrassing from Condon. Last 2 goals sheer luck for the Oil.

Draisaitls face pretty much summed up that goal.

Stone makes up for his brutal giveaway earlier and beats the Monster to tie this at 3.

What the hell?

I am still sceptical that the Oilers will make the playoffs, but a part of me can't wait to see what will happen to them if they did. Is there another team this season that has been as consistently fortunate?

They have been playing the crap out of their two best players. If they do make the playoffs, it will be interesting to see if they have anything left in the tank.

Honestly though, I am not even sure the Oilers care. Just make the playoffs. As long as they do that, the season is a success and they avoid setting a new level of non-playoff futility

If the oilers make the playoffs, I'll be very interested to see how they handle the increased physical play. If a coach has his big hitters target McDavid and frustrate him, that would neuter their offence and they would be riding Talbot like a beaten mule.

PS yay sens.

Nugent Hopkins just blasted Borowiecki on his ass with a huge hit. Never thought I'd ever see that happen.

I would like to see RNH escape from this purgatory, just for the sheer social experiment of it.

Loser points help them look better than they actually are. They're definitely not the dumpster fire they used to be but they're more of a 7-9th place team rather than a contender for the division lead.

I'd say the Sens are the better team and should probably win this game. However, the Oilers have had horseshoes up their arses all season, so I'm not counting on it. I'm just gonna cross my fingers and pray for a miracle. Go Sens!

I'm happy the Sens are playing better than the Devils are. And as stinky as the goals are that Condon's let it, the Oilers back up is looking similarly shaky and this is very important as the Sens are a team that struggles mightily to score goals in many games.

So there should be an interesting finish to this game here.

Sens are being dominated in the third. Hopefully they can hold on. Draisatl is the real deal.

Jeezus Patrick Maroon nearly got a hat trick. Come on Sens, move your feet.
