What happens when QEII dies?
I'm not big on the royal family and all the goings on, but I did find this a really interesting piece. Aside from Cheese and maybe Dion ( ) this is the only monarch we've known in our lifetimes. I guess she's recuperating from a "heavy cold" but nonetheless she's closer to the end of her life than the beginning. Some interesting things in here about what will happen when the day comes: http://news.nationalpost.com/news/ca...n-elizabeth-ii

The Netflix series "The Crown" does a good job of showing how Queen Elizabeth came to power after King George died.

Did you know a Buckingham Palace guard almost shot her when she took a 3 AM stroll in the Palace gardens recently? What a coincidentally timed thread hahaha . . .

If the Royal Family cares about things like public popularity, they'd be smart to skip Charles, and go straight to William.

Why did they make a coin for Prince Charles with a picture of George W Bush on it?

Yup but that feller has waited his whole life for his mom to die, no way does he abdicate the throne to anyone. This is also why the Rebulicans who want to sever all ties to Crown are going to have wait. Because while no one has any love for Charles the world loves the two children he and Diana had. It's going to be Monarchy bliss when Williams ascends to the throne.
Tough ol' bird though.

QEII's mum lived to 102... I wouldn't bet a lot against her outlasting Charles.

Charles gets a new name. Then it's King George VII or whatever for awhile until he kicks the bucket. He likely wouldn't be King Charles III because apparently the old King Charles' had a bad reputation.

contrary to popular belief, Prince Charles is extremely smart and intelligent. High IQ. Does a lot of charity work and runs the Royals 'businesses'. He is like the CEO. Also big climate change guy.
Other than his personal life, he's would be a qualified king.

Prince Chuck, climbs the throne puts on the crown and orders all heirs to be put to death except William.
He then has Carmilla or whatever her name is put to death for being unable to sire him a son, marries 8 wives each hotter then the next and has them killed in the name of the church.

Popular belief is pretty important when you're a figurehead. I don't think Charles is an idiot by any means, but he never came across as someone who could relate to his subjects. William seems like a pretty intelligent, stand up guy, plus he's someone people can at least remotely relate to.
I don't particularly care either way as I'm not a big Royal guy, but optics are important for a family that is basically only there for show.

I have to ask the question, because it's really been on my mind since I was born, but what the **** do we revere these people and what do they really do for humanities benefits overall? With the millions in riches they have, you'd think they'd benefit humanity in some way given they're simply figureheads, but I really see them as useless ####s. I don't get this allure of adoring anyone who is famous just because of their bloodlines.

Also in the article and no.
Unlike the other things listed in the article that contain references to the Queen, the QEII was specifically named for QEII, not just the institution of the Queen.
As for what happens when QEII dies? I can't be the only one hoping for zombie QEII.

Out of the rich vapid celebrities these days the royals seem tame and productive by comparison

I've previously read that the Royals have a tremendous charitable foundation or whatever and it does a lot around the world.
But generally speaking, yeah, they are the OG Kardashians. Famous people that regular people worship for no other reason than they're rich and famous. And when you think about it, Kim/Kanye, JayZ/Beyonce etc, those type of people see we now worship celebrities the way the Royals were/are worshiped and I genuinely think a lot of them plan their empires around the idea of their children someday being some perverted future version of royalty.
