Flames vs Canucks II: The Revenge. 8:00 PM MST. HNIC, Fan 960
Last night was frustrating, but we carry on. Back on the horse. Or, in the case of That Darn Puppet, back on the whale:
Go Flames

Can we elect to have a shooter-tutor in net? That might at least give us a chance and then when Johnson starts it would take up less room on the bench.
They can put the big Gatorade cooler where the backup used to sit.

Seems to me Johnson hasn't had a start against lesser competition in a while. He needs to play well otherwise my concern level cranks up a notch.

Johnson has a chance to take the net back tonight. As long as the team in front plays average, it shouldn't take anything more than a solid performance to do it.

Hopefully, we keep up the aggressive forecheck, but improve some of the sloppy passing.
I don' think there's much we need to adjust tonight to come away with the w.

I hope GG pairs Versteeg back with Mony, they had really good chemistry together. Johnny/Mony have had moments but I think their best 5 on 5 play has been when they've been separated. Wouldn't mind seeing:
Ferland-Mony-Versteeg
Johnny-Bennett-Chaisson

Please don't give up an 8 point swing to the Canucks
It's series like these that you regret losing at season end

This game is the first must win of the season. Lose and Van has won the season series.

I'd assume Freddie Hamilton. Pretty sure he was stapled to the bench late in the 2nd and into the 3rd.

The obvious guess would be Hamilton but if I had to go off the board maybe it could be Ferland. Hamilton played great yesterday and Ferland has been all sorts of inconsistent over the last few weeks. A scratch might get him going again.
I'm not surprised at all by Wotherspoon being scratched though.

Last nights loss was brutal ,but I will be disgusted tonight if we lose this one.
Hopefully Johnson can get on a roll again and the Flames slaughter the filthy Canucks 8-0

Wotherspoon had a tough night so I'm not surprised. Man the Flames really need to find a 4-6 defenseman.
Ideally you get a four and move Wideman down, but at this point I'd take a solid 6.

Regulation win and Johnson blanks the Canucks tonight is my prediction. I feel a tentative low scoring first 2 periods as both teams try to stay locked down defensively, but the Canucks crack in the 3rd and the Flames take turns embarrassing the defence until we chase the starting goalie in a mercy pull.
Make it so GG. Go Flames Go !!

I think it is pretty clear that there is a rotation on the fourth line, and I suspect that coaches are concerned about how Hathaway manages the balance between his high energy and ability to carry it through for 82 games. I imagine that he will continue to rotate in and out of the lineup this season and he will start in the playoffs. Next year he should be in the lineup full time. All I know is that I am pretty happy about having the ability to rotate a few really effective bottom line players in and out of the lineup. It keeps everyone a little fresher.

With how they finished the game last night I cannot imagine a scenario in which the Flames do not come out at puck drop with a barrage of offensive pressure.
I am expecting early and consistent dominance leading to a blowout against this truly awful Canucks team.
