JERUSALEM — A truck plowed into a group of people as they were getting off a bus in Jerusalem on Sunday afternoon, killing at least four people and injuring about 15 others, the police said.
The police called the episode an act of terrorism. Micky Rosenfeld, a police spokesman, said the attacker had been shot, and the police released images showing the truck’s windshield, riddled with bullet holes.
The dead included three women and one man, and although there was no immediate confirmation from the military, witnesses said that some of the people who were run over were soldiers. Several people were hospitalized, some with critical injuries.
Self driving vehicles cannot come fast enough. That way you'll prevent stupid... from pulling stuff like this.
Disgusting.

Both are great features and ideas but I'm sure hackers and terrorists could probably find a way of hacking self driving vehicles for terrorist purposes and autonomous breaking is easy to override at this point by simply turning it off or by pulling a fuse.
There have been a number of these "drive a truck into a crowd" style attacks in the past year, seems like a new method of mass violence that's being encouraged among these groups. It's basically impossible to predict or prevent.

Hopefully Israel doesn't act like Israel and launch a full scale massacre in the West Bank or Gaza over this.
Could not have just let it go with this is horrible? Always have to get your shot at Israel. In any event it seems this might be connected to ISIS and not to terrorist groups based in the West Bank or Gaza.

Seriously?
Palestine is a train wreck, their local TV asks for the death of Jews, they send suicide bombers to Jewish markets/malls and schools and celebrate the bombings with parades and billboards, they launch missiles by the thousands into Israel and you don't like how they act?

"Qanbar’s sister, who learned of her brother’s death on social media, told a group of reporters in Jebl Mukaber that her brother was married and had two daughters and two sons.
She praised him for carrying out the attack.
“Praise God. Our Lord chose martyrdom for him. He went out without warning [us] and without [the support of] a group... He was on his own. Our Lord chose him,” Qanbar’s sister told the Al-Quds News Network, a Palestinian news site.
Qanbar’s sister also said that security forces raided her family’s home on Sunday and arrested five of her family members."
Hamas as well:
"Meanwhile, Hamas welcomed the attack minutes after it took place, calling it “heroic.”
“Hamas blesses the heroic and courageous Jerusalem operation, which is a natural response to the crimes of the Israeli occupation and its violations at the expense of our people, land and holy sites,” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said. “This operation is an affirmation that the resistance and the Jerusalem intifada are ongoing and that all attempts to kill, criminalize and terrorize at the expense of our people and resistance in Jerusalem will not break the will of the resistance.”
Being Jewish and having visited Israel a number of times, I was always fairly moderate in my views, being in favor of a two-state solution, etc. However, as time passes, I am coming to the realization that with the absolute filth in the region that fosters and promotes terrorism, a two-state solution would never be possible, and a land with any sort of Israel in the region will never appease a large majority of Palestinians, so good riddance to all of them that attend these sorts of rallies.
I'm pretty certain that Israel will retaliate, they're going to have too. Especially with them feeling abandoned by the US at the moment. Israel has always had a bunker mentality and that's not going to change.
At the same time, I do feel for the Palestinians , but they keep insisting on keeping a death cult in power, and a death cult that is effectively using their education system to teach their kids to not only outright hate the Jews, but to be willing to martyr themselves.
There won't be any kind of meaningful negotiations in Palestine until groups like Hamas are pushed out and highly right wing leaders from the previous generations who lived through the fear of annihilation by the Arab States are pushed out.

There are filth on both sides, Israel isn't innocent in all this. Israel is one of the scummiest countries in the world. Breaking UN resolutions and building illegal settlements on Palestinian land.
Israel needs to stop building illegal settlements and stop rationing food and medicine and need to come up with a two state resolution to even have a slim chance at peace.
if your home was destroyed to make room for Isreali homes I wonder how you'd react and feel.

Well, I probably wouldn't murder innocent young women, or sing the praises of those who did.
Your moral compass is utterly broken.

Wow, sometimes you sound smart but then you take what I said to mean this attack was ok in any way? Shame on you. The quote was talking about a two state resolution.
Israel has done nothing, yet, in the context of the event this thread is about. Your post was entirely about what a "scummy" nation Israel is, in the mode of those who've followed Noam Chomsky off a moral cliff like lemmings, and then concluded with "If you were in their place, what would you do?"
I merely answered your rhetorical question about "how you'd react and feel" if in the place of the Palestinian who did this, which obviously implied that there was some justification for this sort of behaviour to be found in the state actions of Israel you'd just described.
That's moral blindness on your part, and you need to tone down your usual righteous moral certitude because your intuitions are failing you miserably right now.
