Thanks for the write up as always. Despite only allowing 2 goals getting the W and playing decent in the first, overall I thought Elliott was shaky and fighting the puck.

I would also put the Chad in next game. This team is going to need above average goaltending to make the playoffs. I think Chad is the better goalie so more important to get him going than Elliott. He also hasn't looked great last 2 games so maybe a short break helps.

Agreed. Elliott fought the puck all night and let out some bad rebounds and lost the puck a few times after having it hit him in the chest.

He really struggled tonight despite only facing a few high quality chances. He made a few good saves but all goalies do.

Hopefully Johnson is in net tomorrow.

Elliott fought off the negative impact of a couple of bad bounces and was not beaten on anything that really challenged him.

And the save sliding cross crease does not look sexy due to him being perfectly square, and sorry Bingo, there is skill to that. It won't make the highlight reels like the scorpion but there is a quietness to Johnson's game that gets kudos. This is what that save was.

I applaud Elliott. The microscope was on him, he bungled two but stopped what he was supposed to otherwise.

I think Johnson is in tomorrow for the back to back. That said, I didn't have a problem with anything in Eliiott's game outside of his two big errors. I didn't see him fighting the puck at all. Yes, the puck hits him in the chest and then he covers - he is a blocking goalie. That's how he plays the net. He was square to the puck all night. There were no big rebounds - everything stops at his feet. He held his ground on close in chances, especially ion the first. Smith was far more shaky on outside shots IMO.

I'm thinking Johnson too.
