Default Help Hes and MJK make a deal. League exercise

First off: We guarantee that a deal will be completed.

Secondly :the framework of the deal is...

To Washington

Roman Josi
X

To San Jose

Erik Karlsson

Help us determine what X is. Basically want the league to give us their opinion on what the value difference is between josi and Karlsson. Ideally it would be to look at the Roster for San Jose and specifically state the peice that would make the deal work. If there are multiple pieces that work we may do a league poll.

What's the point ? Fun, league activity and hopefully a snapshot at the current league marketplace.

MJK consistently wins deals. Need to take him down a notch

I don't know that the Sharks have 'x' to make the deal work as it is outlined above. It would ideally be a good prospect or high pick - but the Sharks have neither.
So I would explore a scenario where you get the better of a forward exchange. Most likely involving Voracek
Josi+Voracek for Karlsson+Zajac+Slavin

Something like that.

I think the offensive that Karlsson brings gives him a nice edge in the swap.

Something like Spooner + Josi for Karlsson + Campbell or another scrub?

Spooner doesn't do it for me.
Not really that young anymore and only 9 points this season.
He isn't an offensive player at the NHL level. Basically a depth forward.

Agreed,

Erik Karlsson might be the most value able player in the league.

I see a large difference between the two players....

And I have offers in on Spooner, so people do like him and maybe not a bad time to pick him up while value is lower right now.

I think that would work. I could tell You guys are under rating Josi. I think he is a top 6 defender in the league. He might not put up the points but the guy is solid year in year out.

Something tells me Josi is very underated by a couple GM's...but value seems about right for others.

12 points in 28 games? Meh.
Ironically the deal you guys made earlier provides a good value framework

Neuwirth+Karlsson+Eat Bread
for Matt Niskanen+Jones

So a huge upgrade in another position (goalie) made up for with a prospect going the other way.

Feels like something similar is required here.

Anyways some good opinions here, anyone else have an idea to make this work? More interested in hearing that than debating the options.

Sure, however Karlsson would also fall into the category of top 6 defender.

Difference is Karlsson is in the top 2 in terms of offense. (with Burns)

Way tougher to get offense than defense (Powerplay etc....)

Josi is a really good dman. Not sure if he is elite.

Karlsson is a star.
