Flyers Acquire Backstrom

Philly gets rid of Sid the Kid....yes we did.

To Dallas:
Sidney Crosby
.75 in cap

To Philly:
Nicklas Backstrom

We had quite a few offers on both Crosby and Benn but really preferred moving Sid, despite the amazing year he's having irl. We also passed on one offer that had a player we really, really liked, but thought that player would run into the same issues on our top line.

We had great expectations when Sid joined the team, but having two highly rated scoring threats together didn't pan out. Benn's numbers instantly dropped and it was clear that he was missing a Giroux type player on his line.

In Backstrom, we drop 3ov points, but get a pass first C who hopefully will bring Benn back to last seasons form. If Benn can be Backstrom's Ovie, we'll be content. We also get a little cheaper and gain a year in contract.

Interesting deal...curious to see how the sim reacts to this one. Sid wasnt producing in Philly but the team was doing well.

Trade for the sake of a trade for me. I'm not really a Crosby fan (he is available) and i really like Backstrom.

1-1 trades are pretty rare for me so I thought why not...

Hope it sparks both groups.
