All Brian Elliott all the time. Not sure why discussions up to this point have been in his trade thread, so here we are.

June 24th, 2016, the Flames acquired G Brian Elliott for 35th OA (Jordan Kyrou) & conditional 2018 3rd. Trade thread.

Thanks for this, no idea why but I get annoyed when generic player discussion continues in their trade or draft thread months and even years after the fact
Anyway, I'm still thrilled about having him. Probably one of the most underrated goalies in the league. Yes please to an extension, 3 years would be ideal imo

4 yrs/5 mil is what I'd be comfortable with. I'd like it done sooner rather than later. I don't need to see more of Elliott to decide he's one of the best personally.
I still can't figure out what that moose on the top of the mask is doing .

If we sign him to an extension do we need to expose Gillies in the expansion draft? If so, I can see maybe a handshake agreement with the team and then a signing after the expansion draft.

I feel like among all the contract suggestions we're collectively hoping for / expecting:
If 3 years, $5.5M per.
If 4 years, $5M.
If 5 years, $4.5M.

Tbh I'm more worried about how we're going to sign Elliott next off season after Bennett has a monster 16/17 season and hires Lewis Gross.

As awesome as it was having 18 year old Sam Bennett rough up the Canucks I really wish his contract slid that season. It would be sweet if we didnt have to sign him until 2018.

Regardless if Bennett has a 50+ point season this year, I would still expect BT go give him a bridge contract of 2-5 years for him.
IMO, the perfect scenario next summer would be:
Brian Elliott: 3/$5.250 M
Sam Bennett: 2-5/$3.00-6.00 M
FA: One of TJ Oshie/Karl Alzner
