Flames Central: Whatever happend to that place?
Just watching the game and I saw the digital ad behind the net. Do any CPers go down and watch any games anymore? I recall how great of an atmosphere it was to watch games and have other Flames events.
They got rid of the draft beer years ago and most of the place is pretty empty from my last few visits.
Has anybody been down recently? Are they still open for every game?

For me - the last time I went it was over priced and the quality of drinks is weaker imo then a pub down the street.

Last time i was there was the 2014 world cup of soccer... food has not been great and overpriced. Service is above average. But you have Unicorn etc down both sides of Stephen Ave, lots of better options.

Only ever seen it as a concert venue. Although I think I'd be more inclined to do drugs there during a Flames game now than I was at all the raves I went to at FC in my early 20s....

Last year I tried to go there to watch a game and they were closed. Think they are only open for special events / concerts now.

Rumor has it, they Flames are pulling their name from the place and they are going to re-open it as the Palace night club.

Pretty sure it's known now as a music venue more than anything. I performed there a number of times over the last few years opening for bigger artists. There may still be a connection between the Flames and them but I haven't heard anything about it for a long time.

The company I work for throws concerts there. In January they will reopen as the palace and take out all flames branding.

Was this another of KK's bright ideas?

The last two times I was there, it was a nightclub (1994) and to see Return of the Jedi (1983).

I stopped going once they had a big yellow line on their main tv and didn't fix it. It didn't help that as hockey became less popular they would sometimes not play the games there either. We tried to go a couple times to watch the flames and there was DJ shows instead.

I haven't been following the EDM scene for a bit now but I think its even started losing EDM shows to Marquee too which is a shame cause Flames Central was much better.
