"Anyone else find it funny that you have a goaltender named Smith playing a goaltender named Johnson?"

I actually larfed out loud when I saw this thinking I was the only one who thought of silly things like that.

I like how Monahan looked with Bennett and Brouwer

Thanks for seeing the errors man ... makes my day.

18 game stories in (no other writers) and a run of later games (still can't believe 8pm on Wed against Arizona) has me a little worn out

I do take pride though, so I'll have a look

I thought Chaisson played his best game of the year. Looks much better in a third line role, played with a lot more confidence. Please GG, don't use this as an excuse to move him to the first line again. He's a third line guy and showed it with confidence last night.

You are correct when you said Gaudreau was/is a drag on Monahans development. The injury to Johnny will hopefully restart Monahan who was doing a lot of just following Johnny around... The injury may be a huge positive in the long run

Th most encouraging sign to me is that is wto games in a row where Flames really took control in the 3rd period. With the game on the line, they played their best.

I agree with your comments on Gaudreau's injury as I do believe that shifty, skill players get whacked and it was more bad luck. Team should focus on what they can control. namely, Johnny having a more professional reaction when it happens, and a power play that penalizes the opposition.

Enjoyed reading the comments on Hamilton. I believe he doesn't inspire coaches confidence because sometimes he just seems very unaware on the ice. But given where this team is, and his obvious skill level, I do agree he needs to be played more. Good or bad, we really need to see how he can handle increased responsibility and maybe that helps him.

I absolutely noticed the zone entry improvement on the PP as well. No more Gaudreau bump back, and suddenly our top players are getting more creative on the set up. A few times they even made setting up look easy, instead of giving it to JG and watching him try to dangle half the team at the blue line.

Tkachuk is just awesome. So fun to watch. I can't quite figure out if that is something to be really excited about, or upset at the rest of the team for letting an 18yr old rookie drive the play.

I still want more from Ferland. Guy can run people over and he has a good skill level, he should be mixing it up like Tkachuk does and driving teams crazy.

Crowd was pretty good last night too, which for an 8PM game against PHO you wouldn't really expect. Fun to watch, was even better to get the W.
