So, I've finally gotten around to playing Sleeping Dogs, and it's really making me jones for a hong kong kind of movie. Any suggestions? Preferably something on netflix.
I've seen hard boiled and some of the police story's, haven't had any luck tracking down infernal affairs yet. I also remembered I have a copy of Full Time Killer.
You can basically pick anything John Woo directed in the 80s or 90s. Maybe, A Better Tomorrow or The Killer. If you want something more recent you could look at SPL: Kill Zone or The Raid 1 & 2.

Good point. I'll track down this SPL you're talking about. I've seen the raid movies. I was hoping for something random that maybe I hadn't run across. Unfortunately my main source for foreign movies has been Netflix. I've found a few great ones on there. Topping the list is The Man from Nowhere.
Johnnie To is the man -- best director working in Hong Kong. Drug War is his most recent masterpiece. Other great films: Mad Detective, Exiled, Election, Triad Election, PTU, Fulltime Killer, and The Mission.

Philomena. I liked it, but why do the movie posters seem to promote this as some buddy movie. It had some light moments, but it was a pretty somber film.
