Default Greg Lake (King Crimson. ELP) dead at 69

Quote:
Greg Lake, who fronted both King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, has died aged 69.
One of the founding fathers of progressive rock, the British musician is known for songs including In the Court of the Crimson King and his solo hit I Believe in Father Christmas.
He died on Wednesday after "a long and stubborn battle with cancer", said his manager.
The news comes nine months after Lake's band-mate Keith Emerson died.
Keyboardist Emerson died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, coroners in the US said.

I only "discovered" ELP and KC relatively recently, but loved the intricacy and complexity.

edit: this song'll be getting a lot of play (more so than usual at this time of year), but this particular version really should be heard:

My favorite version of King Crimson:

1981–84: Discipline, Beat, Three of a Perfect Pair
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Crimson

Only founder Robert Fripp and later addition Bill Bruford remained from previous incarnations. The rest of the band was Adrian Belew (guitar, lead vocals) and Tony Levin (bass guitar, Chapman Stick, backing vocals).

KC and ELP always conjures up memories from a long time ago, whenever I hear them.
Love(d) those bands and some of my first experience with prog Rock, which I'm still partial to.

2016 has been such a bad year for musicians, Lucky Man and From the beginning are two of my favourite songs all time. The Court of the Crimson King is a long time favourite as well
