Pardon me while I go vomit.
The D pairings were great yesterday... optimal even. Seriously, don't #### it up by putting Grossmann on the ice.

Yeah Hamilton I get, but Grossmann? Why? D was solid last night.

exactly. If true (and since it's Millions there's still a good chance that it isn't), this is a mind-bottling move. Really hope they go with the pairings from yesterday, thought they were excellent.
With Hamilton drawing in:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Chiasson
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Ferland - Bennett - Brouwer
Bouma - Stajan - Hamilton

LA and Anaheim, big physical teams, not surprised he's in.

Taking a while to get to 5000
I agree, I'd much rather keep Kulak in there but honestly for the 4-5 minutes Grossmann will be playing I'm not too upset. Gio/Brodie/Jokipakka/Hamilton will be getting the lion's share. Now, if Grossmann is replacing Jokipakka, we have an issue.

why move away from the lineup that won against one of the top teams in the league? So ridiculous if true. Unless someone is nursing an injury on the D and they want an extra day to heal before playing the Ducks?
I just don't get it.

Do they sit Jokipakka? I think Kulak deserves to play

It's strange to me there been so much messing around with the d on a game to game basis and not the forwards.

Two big physical teams that no longer dominate. Why not play to our strengths and let the other team worry about matching up against us for once?

Not saying it's what I want, just not surprised that they're doing it.

The 8 headed defenseman is kind of like the 3 headed goalie. You do have to get these guys some game action so they aren't completely stale if the "need" to play due to injury or something. LA is a good team for Grossman to get some time. And he wasn't that bad his last game.

I know they already said Ham in the lineup but any chance they dress 7D and scratch an F?

One thing that stands out to me as a black mark on this coaching staff is their handling of the defence pairings. It seems like as soon as they find something that works they go and muck with it again. The D last night looked fine, I don't understand the need to keep shoehorning Wideman and Grossmann back into the lineup.

We must be playing Grossmann because with his
size he'll be effective against Los Angel-

^ To be fair if we are using the stats against from that same site then Grossman is a better option than Jokipakka.
Jokipakka has a 5.84 GA/60 against LA in is career with a CF% of 34.8%.
Granted It's only been 40 minutes of ice time though so a pretty big sample bias, but still he has been abused by LA in his career.
