Default Photo printing

Where do you guys get photos printed (if you still do). Just simple 4x6 size. I've tried London Drugs before and they turned out ok at the time although have now faded and it's only been like 2 years. Costco? Walmart? Whats good?

Also, if you have thoughts on getting the larger canvas prints done, let me know that too!

I've just had some canvas posters done up at PosterJack. Good quality and a Canadian site. I might have a referral code too. They also seem to have frequent sales...36x24 canvases might be on sale right now too.

For smaller prints have you thought of just using your own printer? I print a bunch of stuff on my photo printer at home and get good results. They are all going to fade overtime but you can just reprint easily if necessary. Ink cartridges are cheap off ebay or Amazon.

I'll look into posterjack.

For printing myself, I only have a black and white laser at home. I won't ever own an inkjet printer again - pretty much the worst piece of consumer hardware in existence.

I would recommend Costco for 4x6 prints. Haven't done them in awhile but the quality is good, especially when they have sales (i.e. 10 cents a print).

Usually Costco. I recently tried Vistek (summertime recent), it was a little more expensive and took a fair amount longer. The quality of the print was good though. I just had 5x7s and 8x10s done but I am pretty sure they did large format and canvas as well.

Costco. They have an app you can use to upload them/place the order right on your phone

Has the quality gone down at Costco with the 4x6s? I used to go there a lot for that and photo books.

They changed photo book suppliers and the quality took a nose dive. Wondering if it's the same with the 4x6?

One other thing I have found is that you get better results by using the "prints in an hour" function instead of "prints in seconds." The longer version is also cheaper, and almost never takes an hour.

Last year I was at a Walmart in Winnipeg getting some pictures printed for my parents. Used the prints in a hour service and asked the guy "how long are we looking at for the 'one hour' service?" He looked at me and asked "are you serious, you just asked me how long the one hour service will be!" I explained that I usually go to another Walmart, and that the service time can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours if they are busy. Then he said to me "should be about 25-30 minutes."

So the guy basically called me an idiot for asking how long the one hour service was, when in fact it really wasn't going to be an hour.
