Booo, we suck - EDM 5 CGY 3
Wideman had his worst game as an NHL player, absolutely pitiful, no foot speed, gave up 2 breakaways, just terrible. Elliott has been far less than advertised, let's see how Johnson does tomorrow. Brodano nowhere near elite. Dougie, nothing special. When your top players aren't your top players, you're going to lose a lot of games. I can't even.

Not really surprised as this was expected seeing the team didn't appear to prioritize getting off to a fast start. I predicted this loss as well as tomorrow and really that's not a hard feat seeing how bad this team looked in preseason. Simply a bad team right now.
Also I'm getting tired of talking about how good this team's defensive group is. The truth is that this defensive group isn't very good at all and hasn't been good for over a year. Not sure if Gulutzan is the guy to coach these guys up (time will tell) but this team is going to flounder until they start playing better defense. Also for a team that practised a lit of special teams, they still stink.

Forward lines are not working. Too slow + No Forecheck. Too much pressure on Gaudreau to be the only puck handler on his line.

We may not put them in their place until the final 2 meetings, but the rest of the league and specifically the western conference will. Good start for the Oil but they are still no good.
