The fans know it's a budget team and therefore won't compete. The Sens are in a division full of cap spending teams

Premium pricing for a crappy team with little in terms of exciting players combined with an arena in the middle of nowhere? Yeah I wouldn't go either.

Good on the fans for voting with their wallets.

I would disagree. Karlsson is worth the price of admission by himself, Stone is super impressive, and Phaneuf can wow in several ways (though he doesn't do as much anymore).

They are a team that doesn't really have any direction, they're too good to blow it up and rebuild, and they're too average to think they can go deep.

When I lived in downtown Ottawa, I used to go to the games quite regularly for a year or two. The prices started increasing drastically every year after they made the playoffs, and that combined with the horrible commute made going to the games far more hassle than it was worth IMO, and so I cut myself back to one or two games a year, including the Flames game.

If they can't put asses in seats with Erik Karlsson on the team then maybe they don't deserve to have a team.

Yeah - the rink location is a disaster.

Been to a couple games there and the commute just makes it a disaster.

Don't they offer, a free ride to the game?

I feel bad for them, this was us post-lockout. Competitive enough to challenge for a low playoff spot and believing we were just one or two key pieces from going further, but getting bounced in the first round.

Things are so much brighter these days.

Less to do with that and more to do with the traffic and time it takes to get home after the game.

Only two access points and even buses had to sit in a ton of traffic to get away from the arena (when I was there at least).

I wouldn't jump the gun. The demand for Flames tickets is pretty poor compared to years past. I understand it's the economy but expect to see a lot of empty seats at the dome this season even if they're technically "sold" to STH's. The resale market is virtually non-existant.

You'd pay all that money, drive all that way just to watch one player play on a meh team that's going no where?

Blind hockey obsession is how Edmonton gets away with nearly 10 consecutive years of being awful.
