Maybe they should rename Sarcee while they're at it so we only have 1 Sarcee Trail instead of 2?
Mod note- decided this was worth of it's own thread.

Sarcee was supposed to cut through Bowness and go across the river to connect up. Bowness residents fought back and won.

Let's start off slowly and try to get back to two Barlows before we try to get to one.

As if I needed another reason to dislike the people of Bowness.

Didn't even realize that there are now three, but at least there's a logical reason. The road existed, and then other development caused fragmentation. Sarcee is just stupid. There should not be two Sarcees, if they never connected to begin with.

Isn't one Sarcee NW and one Sarcee SW? Really no different than numerous non-connected numbered streets and avenues in the four quarters of Calgary

As usual, it is always worse in Edmonton. They have two intersecting roads called Anthony Henday Drive and 66 Street NW at two entirely different locations in the city.

This is my favorite confusing area of Calgary:

You have 77th st running into 75th st and 73 st, and if you look for 74th st and 76th st, they are not next to them, they are south of Bowness road. Just stubs of streets.
Off the the SW you have 36th ave turning to 40th ave for 2 blocks, and a bunch of other weird stuff around. Go Bowness.

Calgary has two intersections of 52nd ST & Temple Drive NE, and what's worse, they are consecutive intersections along 52nd street.

Same with Erin Woods Drive SE to the south along 52nd.

We have a lot of roads like that. Though in that case, I think you meant they aren't consecutive intersections. But, as with the other examples that exist in the city, Temple Drive loops about, so that no matter which entrance to Temple you take, you will get to your address.
Edmonton's Ring Road woes are worse, as are the broken streets in both cities, such as Sarcee and Barlow.

That's arguable, the road is done which counts for something, and the only real woe is traffic in the SW which will be fixed as soon as the province has money for it.
Completion of Calgary's ring road is postponed indefinitely... that's a bigger woe if you ask me.

C'mon Acey. The context - naming issues - was obvious.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I don't feel like it ever causes an issue. It technically should as they're not properly named, but in practice I don't feel like it causes any more confusion than the fact that Country Hills intersects Stoney Trail twice. Edmonton's naming system sucks and is confusing at places, but not specifically related to the ring road IMO.
Edit... plus when you add the fact that Calgary's ring road will inexplicably change names, and then change back, for no discernible reason to a driver who is unaware of the exact location of the TTN boundary.

I like this one... 16th AVE angles off, then ceases to exist past 7th ST SW. I remember hearing that this had something to do with CPR alignment. A bit of a head scratcher for sure though.

Regarding weird road stuff in the city one thing that bothers me a lot is when two streets intersect each other. 22 Street should not intersect with 23 Street. Another weird one is where 48 Street NW intersects itself. Looking at the maps from near my house I also never noticed that 48 St NW is actually west of 49 St NW by Market Mall.
Northmount Drive is a road that baffles me. I've always only known Northmount Drive as the section between 14th Street and Northland Mall. It wasn't until a couple of years ago when I drove down 4th street to avoid traffic and found Northmount Dive way up north of McKnight BLVD by that old Safeway.
