As the title States, what's the ceiling for Sam? Personally l think he could be a 75-80 point player. Someone who will be a candidate for team Canada tournaments going forward. Thoughts?

I think Sam's potential, is that he can be a top 5 center in the league(Monahan will be in the 10-15 position), I think Sam can be a 80-85 point, very good two way player. It will come down to development(the Flames are good at this) and Sam's line mates, if Tkachuk(I see Tkachuk as 60-65 point in your face winger, same as Corey Perry), can step into that role, where he can really help, Sam, than it is a huge step.
The Flames are trending in the right direction but they can really use another top 6 Forward(other than Tkachuk) and a top 4 D, I think the top 4 D, will come from within the Flames system but I don't know about the top 6 Forward.
I hate to be negative, but I haven't seen much from Sam Bennett that would lead me to believe he'll ever be as good as everyone here seems to think he will.
He's got a great attitude, but it doesn't seem like his hands can keep up with his feet or his head. I'm also a little worried his body won't hold up to the style he likes to play. Maybe the weight/muscle he put on this summer will help in that respect.
Currently I don't see much more than a 2nd liner who puts up 45-50 points and mucks it up a bit. Not a bad thing to have, but not a top player in the league.
I hope I'm wrong, and everyone else is right though!

Last year, he was coming off shoulder surgery and had a coach that played him with plugs, he is a young player and he will find a level to the style he plays(meaning he will learn how far he can push his body).
You see flashes of Sam's ability to dominate offensively from time to time. The 4 goal game is a good example of that. Most of those goals were due to his tenacity around the net more than pure skill. Of course he's got some skills, but his game really reminds me more of Doug Gilmour than anyone, which is fitting since I believe that's who he's modeled himself after. I also see Zach Parise a little when I watch him. Digs in corners, has the ability to win battles, heads to the net and makes the defender work to keep him away from high danger areas. Any slip up by the defenseman and Bennett's going to get a great chance. He's not going to score a lot of goals with a snapshot from above the face-off circle, but he can also do that now and then.
His game will benefit a LOT from the added weight he put on over the summer. IF he can add another 5-10 pounds, he'll be nearly unstoppable down low. I don't know if I see a guy who is elite or not, but I do see a very good player who plays an extremely effective NHL style game. Remember, with Gilmour, it wasn't just the points he put up, but it was the attitude and work ethic that made him a fierce competitor. That's often what can win you a playoff series, and I think Bennett will be that x-factor when it comes to the playoffs.
He'll probably never win an Art Ross trophy, but I think he could definitely be a Conn Smythe winner at some point.

I think we'll see a breakout year from Sam either this year or next. 30g 65p 2 way beast is what I expect, could be higher if he finds a permanent spot with Johnny.
Flames are going to be most hated team in the league.

I'm pretty much with you on this. I see a player who will be very valuable, but never a great scorer. Maybe a Kesler-type, but maybe without the scoring. Hope I'm wrong though!

Was there a prettier goal on the Flames last year?
Kids has ogles of talent, the hands, smarts and intensity to match. True franchise player potential. Anyone thinking he doesn't have the hands to match are maybe forgetting his young age. Despite all the flash he also loves to score in close, bang away and drill home a loose puck. Not a perimeter goal scorer, which is why I think he'll be a top goal scorer in the NHL.
Bennett turned 20 two months ago, Sam Reinhart and Leon Draisaitl turned 20 last fall. One of the younger players in his draft year. Wouldn't at all surprise me to see him hit 25 goals 55 points this year.
It'll be interesting to see how the lines turn out long term. Does Gaudreau end up on his wing?
