Hey guys. Just traded my gamecube and all 15 games in at electronics boutique for a brand new playstation 2 and a copy of NHL 2006 with a memory card and two controllers.

I am confused how to get the playstation 2 to connect to the internet. I know something to do with a router, etc, but my tv is downstiars and computer is upstairs. I am running on shaw internet and the tv my Playstation is on is connected to shaw cable.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks alot and maybe I can play some of you guys on the web once I get set up. I have a deadly one timer already :P

Look Papa Gino, I know you're excited to see that there's a reply in this thread but it's just me saying that I am in essentially the same position as you, with the same lack of knowledge.

This is what I did:

I bought a router, connected the network cable from the cable modem into the 'WAN' port on the router.

Connected a network cable from my computer to port #1 on the router.
(the other computer is the same, except for port #2)
Connected a network cable from the PS2 online device to port#3 on the router.

Voila!

2 options:

Wireless Router

or

Drill a hole in your floor and drop a cable down to the basement

Thanks a lot Flames 89 and Buff. Another quick question, about how much does a wireless router go for nowadays?
