Alrighty.... so there are a few people coming across the Atlantic for a little Canadian vacation this October.

What would you recommend they do in Calgary?
There's always plenty more things to do in the summer time (which is when most of my visitors make their trips...)
Strangely enough, I was full of ideas with what to do in Quebec, but apart from going to the Calgary Tower and heading off to Banff/Lake Lousie for a day (weather permitting), I'm drawing a bit of a blank.

They have managed to snag tickets to 2 Flames games. (The luck!!)

Thanks

Calgary Zoo is always good and October is one of the best times to visit it - animals will be very active.

Could also take them to a Stamps Game

Yeah, the zoo is good.
The Stamps game I'll suggest... but I'm not too sure how keen they'd be about 'American football.' I suppose there's a first time for everything! lol

Thanks Jiri.

Glenbow museum has a great display on for the centennial, also, there may be speedskating at the Olympic Oval by then....? If it's cold enough Olympic Plaza skating. Kane's Harley Diner is great for a meal, wander Kensington and Inglewood, (Spolumbo's), and Eau Claire

You can take them to COP for a tour of the ski jumps. It's a pretty amazing view from up top, and seems to be pretty poular with tourists (I see them all the time when I'm out biking).

Shoulda come in the summer. The city is a terrible place to visit during October-Feb.

It's cold, in the middle of prairies.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll pass them along (seeing as I'm not the one showing them around).

Yeah, they should've come in the summer... but then they wouldn't have been able to watch the Flames! (Watch, in particular, a Mr. Steve Montador and a Mr. Steven Reinprecht, who made quite the impression on our visitors during their stint abroad last year)

I'm just hoping the weather stays decent for them!
