Top selling hockey players
These players had the top selling jerseys for last season:
1. Jonathan Toews, Chicago Blackhawks
2. Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks
3. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers
4. Alex Ovechkin, Washington Capitals
5. Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins
6. Patrice Bergeron, Boston Bruins
7. Zach Parise, Minnesota Wild
8. Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens
9. Ryan McDonagh, New York Rangers
10. Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers
Do you think that Johnny Gaudreau, will be able to get into the top 10 for jersey sellers, let's say the Flames go on a long playoff run and Johnny has a great playoffs, will Johnny be able to make it into the top 10.

I'm honestly surprised John Scott isn't on that list.

Flames current jersey is too ugly for Gaudreau to crack the top 10. Once the retros come out, spots 1-10 will be Flames jerseys.

This. I have held out buying a new jersey because the current ones are pretty bad.

Where's Mason Raymond?
But yeah. What the other poster said. Doesn't matter the player, non-Calgarians are not going to willingly spend money on one of our current primaries. Way too uggo.
Time to get off your ### Ken King. Since 07-08 we've had these now?

I would say committing 7-8 years to being a Flame would also increase Gaudreau jersey sales.

Has it really been that long since we had those ugly NJ devil style jerseys? Ugh. Hopefully the new Adidas ones will be good.

Time and time and time again the Flames hates money. They can probably pump out new outfits every 5 years and we will be throwing money at them hands over fists....

Only made worse by the fact they sold us an awful third jersey that was only in use for what? 2 years?
The change to Adidas better bring a re-design, and it better not suck.

I'm a little surprised McDavid and Crosby are 1&2.

This list is dominated by players on American teams because this is only the top 10 from the NHL's online store. In Canada there are a million options for places to buy jerseys from. There are probably 3 or 4 different stores in every mall in Canada. In the US, you pretty much have the online NHL store, the store at the arena itself, and maybe one or two other stores in each metro area with a team.
There is zero chance that McDavid jerseys weren't the number one seller if you were tracking every sales outlet.

I can say the same thing about the 80's. Every thread there is a group of you that have to moan and whine about the retro's. You are like that guy that lost a gf over 20 years ago and still goes on about her. Move on, they are the past and should stay there.

I've visited several jersey places in Calgary and asked about McDavid gear. All of them said they could not keep up with demand. Pro Hockey Life north and south, about 3 jersey cities, and about 3 Sport Cheks
