Default Recommended home renovators?

In August I'm moving into a house with finished walk-out basement.
Basically the 1000 sf finished basement consists of one very large room and a 3 pc bathroom.

What I want to do is convert part of the large finished room into a bedroom complete with closets (clothes and linen) / living room.
I also want to tear out the tub in the bathroom and replace the tub area with a shower.

Future bedroom area....

Living room area.....

Tub to be removed and replaced with shower....

Anybody know any good renovators they would recommend?

I used a company called Stylo Renovations
http://www.thestylogroup.com/

I had them build me a custom steam shower along with some other reno's.....they did a great job, good pricing.

pm me if you want some more direct contact info or pics....

Just curious.

Why on earth would you want to get rid of the tub?

Do you really have to do this to make room for the bedroom, or closet?

...Just thinking that reversing this decision would be costly and as far as re-sale goes, it's always a good thing to have a "full" bath in the basement.

Turning it into a "mother-in-law" suite and she finds a tub difficult to get in and out of.

From my experience, they also had the "Ultimate" pricetags... get a few quotes to be sure.

I'm thinking of renovating my upstairs bathroom...tub and toilet, and would appreciate any help in finding someone reliable to do a good job at a fair price. Thanks.

In my experience, sub contracting out the trades is the cheapest way that can get you a very good product. Bringing in a prime contractor to use their existing contacts is convenient, but you pay a premium for their service and at the end of the day you'll still have the same troubles chasing down a prime contractor to finish the work the same as you would if you did it yourself. If possible, get family or friends that are qualified to do the work for you.
