Nashville GM spends a chunk of money
The Nashville Predators have been particularly quiet this off-season, but today the GM made a few moves and spent a pile of money to lock-up a few players who were restricted free agents. Receiving new contracts were:
Petr Mrazek: 3 years at $8mm
Jonathan Bernier: 3 years at $2mm
Kevin Hayes: 3 years at $2.25mm
Jimmy Hayes: 3 years at $2mm
Nick Bonino: 3 years at $2.25mm
They also did some business in the AHL and ECHL squads to set the team up for the coming season. Mark Arcobello and Sami Aitokallio were not signed by the club and are expected to hit free agency.
A couple players are expected to make the big club this year as well. Shayne Gostisbehere and Klas Dahlbeck have both earned roster spots as well as Tom Wilson.
With the addition of these two defencemen in particular Nashville will be active in the trade market this summer as they are also close to terms with Duncan Keith.
