Always disappointing to hear this kind of stuff. You would hope a person like him would have no issues finding other means of getting home.

Not that I approve of his behaviour, but before we all get high and mighty here we have all gone home after one too many. Those that say they haven't are being dishonest.

Officially a loser now.. too bad. One of my all time favorite hockey players is now worth spit to me.

I have zero tolerance for drunk drivers.. good thing that mini-van wasn't full with a family in it.

You're right, I've gone home after one too many, I've never gotten behind a wheel after one too many. In fact, I barely drink unless in foreign port or have a DD/ Cab lined up and I never drink and drive.

What a disgusting comment... "we all have done it, so dont get high and mighty"...

If you've done it, you're a loser too.

I don't think we sit around and say "Hey, we've all done it!" when anyone not-named Ray Bourque gets arrested for drunk driving, so why in the world would we give him slack either?

Doesn't hurt his legacy as a hockey player obviously but he comes out looking like a pretty stupid human.

Drinking and driving is wrong and I think you might have to talk to someone if you think everyone is doing it. That's a pretty telling statement about your character.

As for Bourque, it's unfortunate that it happened and it's good that he's owning up to it. I'm glad no one was hurt and I hope he (and apparently some others) learn from this mistake.

Hockey has a very boozy culture. Surprised this doesn't happen more often.

He's lucky no one got killed in this accident.

It quite frankly should tarnish his reputation. Look at what happened to Rob Ramage's reputation, but he killed someone. Bourque should thank his lucky stars that his idiotic decision didn't kill anyone in the van.

He's Canadian. Pretty sure we can't do that.

Honestly I did a couple times when I was younger. Was extremely lucky nothing happened. I was also 19-20 and very young and dumb. Now that I'm 31 and a big kid, it's not even an option to do something like that after a couple drinks. I'm either the DD who has 1 drink, or I take a cab. Those are literally the only 2 options.

Ray Bourque is a 55 year old millionaire. There is literally no excuse. None. Zero. The fact that he's 55 and got busted tells me this isn't his first time doing it. He's probably been driving drunk for decades. He just happened to get busted this time.

If the allegations are true, it's hard to feel any bit of remorse for him.
