Icon44 Devils sign Palmeri (5yrs, $4.65m AAV)

New Jersey Devils @NJDevils
Proud to have Jersey's own @kylepalmieri re-signed with the Devils! Palms is staying home!

Andrew Gross @AGrossRecord
Even better news....Devils announce Palmieri's deal is for five years (buying three years of UFA) at $4.65 million AAV

Looks like he'll be part of their core for a while now.

He had a great season (57 points) and deserves the contract. He's still only 25.

Solid contract IMO

Great deal for the Devils IMO.

It will be interesting to see if he can repeat his success of last season, but I wouldn't bet against it.

Palmieri-Henrique-Hall should be a very good line in the league this season.

if he can keep up his production from last year then that's a great deal.

When I first saw this I thought 4.65 total is a pretty solid deal. Then I realized it was 4.65 a year. Totally forgot about him (I guess that is what happens when you play in NJ) and saw he scored 30 goals. If he can be that consistent throughout that contract this will be a steal.

Good deal for NJ if he keeps punching in the goals.

So far has been a steal of a trade for the Devils. Hopefully he continues the same trajectory.

For a moment I thought it said that the Flames had signed him. That would have solved our winger problem for sure!

Hall-Henrique-Palmieri

That'll be a killer 1st line for years

Hall and Henrique played together in Windsor as well.

Yup add in Zacha, Mcleod, Blandisi, Boucher with vets like Zajac and Devils O is coming up fast. Set in net as well. Defense, which was thought to be their strong point at the start of the re-build looks shaky now.

Greene and Severson will be a good 2nd pair. Moore and Merrill can round out the bottom pair. That team is a top pair and an elite forward away from competing but those are the hardest things to get lol.

You have to throw Lovejoy in the mix there somewhere. I'd say if John Moore is on your bottom pairing you have a fantastic bottom pairing. I think he's more of a 2nd pairing guy. Don't disagree with the rest at all.
