Default Arizona acquires 16th OA & Datsyuk for 20th OA, 53rd OA and Joe Vitale

Pavel Datsyuk's contract goes to Arizona along with the No. 16 pick for Joe Vitale, the No. 20 pick (NYR) and a second round pick (No. 53).

I can't believe Pavel will never be a Red Wings again. He would look so different in a coyotes uniform!

They were able to move up 4 picks in the draft by taking on a cap hit and not have to pay salary. Good move in my books.

I guess Arizona is gambling Chychrun will become the best d-man in the draft and some would say that is not that big of a gamble.

This, Arizona was never gonna be near the cap and it doesn't cost them a dollar.

Hefty price to pay but I suppose to take a risk on Chychrun who people seem to have forgotten.
Edit: I'd imagine the price from Arizona would have been less as a 'favor' for taking the contract from Detroit.

Coyotes still under the floor even with Datsyuk contract. I don't see how Arizona got robbed. They moved up for near free.
