Lucic - No deal with Kings, testing UFA Market
Per the Score app. He failed to come to a deal with the Kings and is going to test free agency. Hopefully not SureLossed.

No thanks. Declining player about to get paid way too much. 3 years at 4 million is all I'd be prepared to offer and that's not getting the deal done.

Before anyone says we should sign him, this would be one of those contracts we look back at in 2 to 3 years and go "man, what if we never signed lucic, imagine what we could have done!"

I'm a big Lucic fan but some team is going to sign him to 6 years and it will quickly become an anchor I think.

I hope he signs with the Canucks for a lot of money.

I'd love him on a 4 year deal max but I agree with AC that someone is going to do something stupid....how can you not think of Dim Jim offering him a 9 year deal lol

Seeing how Benning is trying to turn the Canucks into the 2011 bruins, I can totally see Van going out of its way to sign him

Wesley Crusher isn't a fan
Wil Wheaton @wilw
Oh no the @LAKings aren't going to re-sign Lucic! Who will take dumb penalties away from the puck and mishandle passes in the slot now?!

Dennis Bernstein @DennisTFP On Lucic, hearing the issue was term not price for extension. Player wanted max deal for security, Kings only willing to go 4 years.

I totally see Vancouver overpaying him on a long term deal. The denial that team needs a total rebuild is strong.

He'll go to Vancouver almost certainly.
He's not what he was, and I would like to avoid him.

Hence bold Craig MacTavish Gif (because I dont have the Chia one).
Chiarelli was literally naming Lucic as 'the guy we need' on his very first day as Oilers GM. The Oilers are likely going to break to bank to get him and he'll be 'Chia's Pet.'
Might even make him Captain.

I'd love to know what the dollars were then because I cant believe he thought he'd get a 7-year deal.

If Chiarelli wobbled his head like that his neck would snap.
