Bees in my basement
In the last three weeks I've found 4 dead bees in my basement . And today I found one alive bee just strolling around on the carpet. I don't have a outside door downstairs. I have three windows but they are all closed. How the hell are they getting in. I'm freaking out I hate bees.
Has anyone ever had this issue. Where do I start to find where these bees coming in.

Bees or wasps? Do you have a vent leading to the outside down there, maybe from a dryer or the vent fan in a bathroom that leads outside? Is there a way they could get in from your siding outside and into your walls if your siding has cracks in it (this happened to a friend of mine)? Crack in the foundation they're coming through?
We get wasps in our attic conversion every year. But last year I finally had soffit guards put over the very small eaves and this year I'm clear.

Bees or wasps? Bees usually won't nest in an occupied house. wasps on the other hand will try and eat you.They can get in through surprisingly small holes. Around dryer vents, through holes for power, gas lines etc.

If they have a pointy thing on their bums? Bees. If they have the mandibles from hell? Wasps.

I used to get basement bees. Big fat ones that wouldn't fly - they would just be on the carpet or floor, barely able to move. Don't really know where they were getting in.

Bumble Bees are big and fat, and typically build nests in the ground. If that's the case there could be a crack in the foundation and their nest is near there, on the outside or inside.

I had this problem before. There was an old vent at the back of the house that wasn't sealed off properly. A can of spray foam fixed that problem pretty quick.

We have had a lot of bees in the place where I work this year (residential). They are all pretty lethargic. Maybe it's just the year for them?

I nearly started a thread for this very thing a couple months ago. Moved into a new house and found about 4-5 dead bees in the first month. I had never experienced such a thing before. A quick search on the trusty internet had me convinced there was a bee hive in the walls of my house and I was ready to move and burn it to the ground (similar to looking up your mild symptoms on the internet and you always have lupus).
Anyway, my room mate found some vents on the outside of our house that were flipped open, he closed them and haven't seen a bee since.

We need to help out the bees as much as we can so we can avoid having to artificially pollinate crops to sustain the food supply. Wasps should be killed on general principle.
