Default Sunday August 7

We're on the board with the Bronze Medal win last night! Australia and Hungary each have two golds so far. The US, China, and Japan all have 5 medals each. Rowing coverage starts the day off again at 5:30 on CBC.

Michael Tayler races in the Men's Kayak Single Slalom, and Cameron Smedley races in the Canoe Single Slalom.

The Women's Rugby 7's Team looks to continue their great start facing Great Britain at 9:30 on TSN. The Quarterfinal matches will also take place later on in the day.

Jennifer Abel and Pamela Ware compete in the Women's Synchronized 3M Springboard at 13:00 on CBC.

Both Canadian Women's Beach Volleyball teams in action on TSN2 with Bansley and Pavan facing the Dutch team at 12:30, Broder and Valjas face an Italian team at 19:00.

Daniel Nestor and Vasek Posposil take on their first round match up of Australians Marcus Daniell and Venus Michael... Can't find what channel this is going to be on, I'm thinking it will be one of the Sportsnet channels.

The Men's Volleyball Team plays their first Olympic match since 1992 against the US at 14:05 on CBC.

Medals to be handed out in Women's 100m Butterfly, Men's 100m Breaststroke, Women's 400m Freestyle, and Men's 4X100m Freestyle Relay, gonna be the Michael Phelps hype show with U-S-A chants all evening.

Go Canada Go!!! 14 more medal events today, let's add to the total!

This rowing venue is awful. It's really going to affect the outcomes.

I'm looking forward to the volleyball today. Beach volleyball is fun to watch but I'm really excited about the indoor men's team. Those guys are good. It is great to see them at the Olympics. It will be tough for them to get a medal but it could happen.

Yup! Except the big boys come in Round 3. He gets the #6 guy from Hong Kong next.

10-0 GBR at the half, I'm not used to seeing points actually scored against Canada in this.

I don't know a lot about rugby but between letting the clock run down to 6sec when you're in the rugby version of the red zone seemed like an odd choice. Then fumbling the pass. Those last 20 seconds of the first half wad a bit of a disaster

GBR takes first place in the pool. They were very aggressive.

Wasn't a great result of GBR winning 22-0 in the Rugby womens.

I'm not familiar with this sport - will Canada be expected to fare better against France in quarterfinal?

as much as Rugby 7s looks fun, 14 minutes is way too short for a team sport to be played. There are no ebbs and flows or drama.

Canada should beat France (is that who we get? I thought it would be NZ?). Really not a good display from them against GB though. Some poor decisions, bad defence and just a rough outing. If they were going to lose a game though, that is the one you would pick.

It has to be that short though because the players would die if it was much longer!

France was what I heard CBC say, but I could be incorrect

Is anyone able to explain how those judo scores translate?
Or does the CBC RIO site have explanations? So many sports with their points systems which I'm not aware of.

1s1 100 etc?
I saw BOUCHARD Antoine win a couple matches this morning but then lost to a SLOvenian a short while ago.

Ippon is an automatic win and is shown as 100 points.
It's when you get the other guy onto his/her back. You score lesser points for other throws (like landing on the side) and holds.

Throws outrank holds.
