Mike Yeo to take over as St. Louis Blues head coach in 2017 #STL

Looking more and more like Gulutzan is the man here.

Can't say I'm upset. Good hire for the blues imo. Has a year to learn and implement a system with little recourse.

Has a team ever hired a head coach a season in advance before? This is a new one on me.

An evil thought occurs: Suppose, for some reason, the Blues fall flat in '16-17 and wind up getting rid of most of the coaching staff before the season ends. Could it turn out that Yeo is the first guy ever fired after a negative number of games as head coach?

Chicago once fired a coach after two games – Godfrey Matheson, 1933. Will that record be surpassed?

OK, none of this is at all likely. It's just such an unusual process, I can't help being silly with it.

Maurice Richard also only lasted 2 games as a head coach, but he resigned instead of being fired. Couldn't handle the stress of it.

Great news I was extremely worried about Yeo coming to Calgary. No thanks.

Funny that the Blues are also the only team to ever hire a GM a season (or two?) in advance also, in Doug Armstrong.
