Hopefully they wouldn't shoot and kill the driver of the stolen vehicle for just leaving the scene, one would think the bad guys either had guns or were trying to run over the cops trying to flee.
Anyone can buy Support 81 clothing. Its not like wearing a patch. The clothing is even available online. Lots of wannabes or hanger-ons wear the stuff. Taking the initial reports of the criminals breaking into cars at face value, it sounds more like petty criminals rather than organized crime.

Petty criminals and organized crime aren't mutually exclusive. But that being said, this buffoon could just be sporting some HA merchandise rather than being actually affiliated.
I always assumed most parkade break-ins took place in the middle of the night. Crazy for four people to come around breaking into vehicles just after dinner time when you assume the parkade would be pretty busy.

Not at all. Yet it's a common assumption. Folks seem more likely to give people the benefit of the doubt during the day, but as soon as it's dusk or night, folks are up to no good. A LOT of stuff happens during the daylight hours. If you are curious about just what sort of things happen during the day, check out Constable Mark Smith on Facebook, and look at his #YYCOnPatrol posts, where he posts a selection of things (generally 15-30) that have gone on in Calgary in the hour or two previous. He's not done one past 9pm yet.

Accounts of Sanjai Prasad’s death at the hands of police paint a picture of two decades of violence across two provinces, ending with him almost killing officers.
But friends of Prasad, who also went by the nickname Kilo, say that’s not the man they knew, and not the man they choose to remember.
Prasad, in his early 40s, died Friday night in a southeast Calgary parkade when one of several officers opened fire on him while he was in what police say was a stolen vehicle with two other men and a woman.
Sources told Postmedia Prasad tried to run over officers and he very nearly succeeded.
His friend Stacey Thompson acknowledged his criminal past, but said he wasn’t violent.
“He always went willingly — he never fought with them,” Thompson said.
“He was always polite to them.
“I can’t see him doing what they said because there were his friends in the car and he cared so much about his friends — he would never put them in a situation like that.”
In stark contrast, Postmedia’s sources described Prasad as “a nightmare wherever he goes” and criminal records out of Alberta and B.C. show offences including extortion, fraud, drugs, weapons, resisting arrest and violence including spousal assault.
